Rangers 8, Astros 7:

Nelson Cruz hit a two-run homer during a six-run sixth inning and Yu Darvish won his fourth consecutive decision as visiting Texas Rangers defeated the Houston Astros for the second straight night.

David Murphy hit the go-ahead double off Philip Humber (0-8), Leonys Martin had a two-run triple and Elvis Andrus capped the six-run uprising with a run-scoring single as the Rangers knocked off the Astros for the 18th time in the last 22 meetings.

Adrian Beltre and Lance Berkman also homered for the Rangers.

Darvish (6-1) allowed three runs and three hits in seven innings and struck out eight to raise his major-league leading total to 80.

Matt Dominguez had two homers and three RBIs against Darvish. Dominguez hit a solo shot in the third and a two-run homer in the fifth that gave Houston a 3-1 lead.

Cardinals 3 Rockies 0:

Adam Wainwright took a no-hitter into the eighth on way to his sixth career shutout while Allen Craig recorded three hits and an RBI as St. Louis blanked visiting Colorado for the second straight day.

A day after Shelby Miller retired 27 straight batters in a one-hit shutout, Wainwright (5-2) struck out seven and surrendered two hits while walking one. It was the veteran right-hander's second shutout of the season and his 13th career complete game.

Wainwright finally allowed a hit when rookie Nolan Arenado sent a clean single to center with one out in the eighth, ending a string of 49 straight outs without a hit for Rockies batters.

Rays 8 Padres 7:

Evan Longoria belted a two-run, two-out homer in the bottom of the ninth inning as the Tampa Bay Rays rallied past the San Diego Padres for a fourth straight victory.

Ben Zobrist walked with two outs and Longoria hammered a pitch by closer Huston Street (0-2) over the left-center field wall to set a franchise record with his fifth walk-off home run.

James Loney also hit a two-run homer and Cesar Ramos (1-0) did not allow a hit over 2 1/3 innings to get the victory.

Yankees 3 Royals 2:

Vernon Wells belted a two-run homer to back seven strong innings from Andy Pettitte as visiting New York Yankees beat the Kansas City Royals to extend their winning streak to four games.

Pettitte (4-2) rebounded from a pair of rocky outings to win his 10th consecutive decision against Kansas City.

Angels 3 White Sox 2:

Mike Trout slugged a two-run homer and the visiting Los Angeles beat the Chicago White Sox to match a season high with their third straight victory.

Jerome Williams (2-1) allowed two runs and seven hits in 6 2/3 innings to pick up his first win as a starter since June 1, 2012.

Indians 7 Tigers 6:

Ubaldo Jimenez pitched six strong innings to outduel an ineffective Justin Verlander as visiting Cleveland Indians held off the Detroit Tigers to even their series.

Asdrubal Cabrera had three hits and drove in a pair as the Indians won for the 11th time in 13 games.

Cubs 8 Nationals 2:

Edwin Jackson pitched into the sixth inning and drove in two runs as visiting Chicago Cubs evened their three-game series with the Washington Nationals at one game apiece.

Jackson (1-5) was charged with two runs on four hits as he outdueled Stephen Strasburg (1-5) to earn his first win in a Cubs uniform.

The loss ended the Nationals' season-best winning streak at five games.

Giants 10Braves 1:

Gregor Blanco game off the bench to drive in a career-high four runs and Madison Bumgarner had a season-high 11 strikeouts as the San Francisco Giants routed the visiting Atlanta Braves for the second straight game.

Pablo Sandoval added a solo homer in the first for the Giants while Bumgarner (4-1) allowed one run on four hits over seven innings for his first win in five career starts against the Braves.

Twins 8 Orioles 5:

Justin Morneau recorded three hits and three RBIs as the Minnesota Twins rallied from an early three-run deficit to defeat visiting Baltimore Orioles.

Joe Mauer was 3-for-4 with an RBI and Ryan Doumit delivered a two-run homer for the Twins.

Reds 13 Brewers 7:

Jay Bruce homered, doubled twice and drove in a pair of runs as host Cincinnati Reds built a big early lead and beat the Milwaukee Brewers for the second straight day.

Mat Latos (4-0) benefited from the offensive burst to remain undefeated and helped his own cause with a pair of RBI singles as the Reds won for the sixth time in eight games.

Blue Jays 3 Red Sox 2:

Adam Lind led off the ninth inning with a tiebreaking home run as Toronto shaded the host Boston Red Sox.

Lind drilled a 2-2 pitch from Boston closer Junichi Tazawa (2-2) over the center-field fence for his second home run of the season as the Blue Jays halted a three-game losing skid.

Pirates 11 Mets 2:

Francisco Liriano struck out nine over 5 1/3 innings in his season debut while Jose Tabata went 4-for-5 and finished with a season-high three RBIs as visiting Pittsburgh Pirates cruised past the New York Mets.

Liriano (1-0), who allowed six hits in his first start since suffering a broken right arm in December, struck out two batters in four of his first five innings before tiring after 90 pitches. (Editing by Simon Evans and Steve Keating)
