Little India?

May 18 [Thu], 2006, 20:17
Anyway, my family always stays in Genting Hotel 'cause of the big and comfy rooms. Well, it hasn't changed but the occupants had. In the past, you'll see alot of Singaporeans and Malaysians even during the Low season. Now, you see alot of Indians!! From India. And a lot of those from Middle East. Omg. Which means they're richer than the Chinese from China who mostly stay in First World Hotel. After observing the Indians during breakfast (almost 70% of the people there are Indians), I realised they eat alot of fruits and bread. By alot, I really mean ALOT. -.-

Oh yah, the buffets in Coffee Terrace at Genting Hotel are great!! Almost all of the dishes are yummy and delicious and its ala carte style. You can ask the chef to cook whatever you want as long as it is within his means. Heh.

And JJ is holding his concert there at 1st July. Gosh, that would be so nice 'cause the weather is so cooling and the concert hall is huge. Why can't 24th June come faster!?

Oh, my mum met an auntie while she was playing the jackpot. Damn corny. My mum hit some bonus thingy and the screen appeared many small boxes and a huge box was surrounded by all the little ones. Inside the huge box, it says 'Do Not Touch' in red. Then the instructions were to hit on any box. So my mum tried all the buttons found on the machine, but nothing happened.

So she asked the auntie.
The auntie says, 'There, Do Not Touch.'
Then she proceeds to touch the 'Do Not Touch' box.

BOOM!

The screen exploded.

Just at that moment before the auntie touched the screen, it dawned on Mum that she's supposed to touch anything except for the box. Yes, its touchscreen. But alas, too late.

So Mum got 55 points instead of maybe a thousand, or more.

The auntie apologized and scooted off immediately she finished her token. LOL

Mum was complaining to me that she hates 'Gei Kiang' people. Dunno say dunno lah!

After that, no more tyco bonuses for Mum.

I'm Back! =)

Although I'm glad to be back in Singapore, I just HATE the weather. For one, why is it so stuffy in here? Its giving me a major headache. I just adores Genting's weather - cool. Anyway, just some good news. I didn't spend a single cent in Genting!! Aside for food and accomodation lah. All the shops sell branded stuff like Esprit etc. Or else it will be Giordano and U2, how to shop? Anyway, Genting is not a place to buy but a place to give. People give all their ringgits to the casinos.

Yes. I'm feeling bitter 'cause I'm not 21 yet. So I can't go in!! And security is freaking tight now, almost every entrance has 2 to 3 guards! Still my mum can't resist the temptation of the jackpot machines so she'll visit them at night, leaving me and my cousin alone in the room watching Disney channel. -.- Pathetic.

So I watched A LOT of cartoons. 'Cause my 13 year old cousin still watches them!! Looking at him, I would never imagine that he would dare to take the Space/Solero Shot 4 times, Corkscrew twice, Cyclone twice or something and twice on Flying Coaster. Wth. He looks too timid to be able to achieve all that, but he did. Even my mum finds it hard to believe. We asked him alot of times and decided that 'no, he can't be lying'. And he ate 11 scoops of ice-cream at the dinner buffet! Spent RM48 to eat ice-cream and some other little things. My mum was so pissed. The next day, he still had the cheek to say that he wanna go for the buffet. Then I told him in Chinese, "Please lah. Even if I use my butt and think, I also know that you're just going in for the ice-cream". I Not Stupid okay. Buffet breakfast lagi worse, the bowl of cereal he had cost RM25. Bah.

I've always feel that the father spoiled him badly, gives him anything he wants. My parents have never done anything close to that. So some people just have to change their perspectives of only-childs. Not ALL are spoil brats.

Off to Genting~

May 14 [Sun], 2006, 0:03
Wanted to blog 2 hours ago but well, drifted away.

Anyway, Mum's Day celebration was done at Ka Soh, a nice little Chinese restaurant off Amoy Street, just opposite Far East Square. Heh. Though pricey, the food was well worth it. I'm still super duper full now. Dinner amount up to around $200 for 11 adults and 3 kids and it was zi-char style, so kinda expensive. Hmm.

Well, I was waiting for my mum around Chinatown MRT after going to the money changer. An old man or uncle came up to me and tried to chat me up. Like WTH. Asking me where was I from and what's my name or something like that. Didn't really bother about him and tried to walk away quickly. So he quit bothering me after some time. Ugh. I was just wear a plain t-shirt and shorts from F21. Did I look like some China woman trying to sell herself off? WTH. So traumatised! Not gonna wear anything close to that when I next visit Chinatown. That's like yuck and ewwww! >.< Unpleasant experience.

After reaching home, I've been watching the box, ironing and packing, all done at the same time. Haha. My clothes are screaming to be ironed, been piling up since I don't know when. -.-

Will be going to Genting Highlands in 3 and a half hours time. Luckily, I'll be taking the Five Stars massage bus with my personal tv and movies. Hoho. Hopefully the money spent would be worth it. =)

So see you guys on wed. In the meantime, goodbye and take care! ^^

Days of the Five of US #2

May 13 [Sat], 2006, 2:07
Sometimes I feel like blogging, yet sometimes I don't. But whenever I read my friends' entries, I feel that I should at least blog a little, in order to let them know what I'm up to these days. Haha. So yeah, you've got to keep blogging to keep me going. ^^

Anyway, a Happy 19th Birthday to Becca! Though a belated one now, still better late than never. Haha. I had a good time too~ We should meet up more often since I'm so damn free now.

Hmm, I realise I tend to spend more when I've stopped working. That is so weird. Like today, I bought a $38 pair of shorts from F21 again. Lol. But I like it very much, something like love at first sight. Heh. Sadly, I can't wear it to Genting because I don't wanna freeze. Other than that, I didn't buy anything else, unlike Ww. Today it feels like Rong is her boyfriend or something, walk behind her and even pay for her. Everything is but a mirage. Because Rong is just paying on her behalf. This taught us an important lesson - NEVER to leave your card at home. Lol.

Jean played an important role today too. And also, she taught us a lesson - NEVER to trust her on directions. How could someone mistook Capitol Theatre as Parco Bugis Junction? And how could someone think that Chijmes is very near to Bugis? Lol. Okay, its quite near but not THAT near. Thus in the end, we had to walk back through Suntec to Bugis. Totally defeated our purpose of taking a bus. -.-

Anyway, we had dinner at Happy Pay Steamboat Restaurant. I must say the Ma La pot is good. Damn shiok! The meat is sliced into thin layers, making it easier to cook and yummier~ =D So the $24 was quite well spent considering we ate a hell lot of pork and beef. Haha. But the cockroach didn't go down easily on the 4 of us with Jean screaming her head off. Lol. We all wants Tiff as our roomie!

All in all, a good week spent. :)

Jobless and Free~

May 10 [Wed], 2006, 5:42
First day being an unemployed, I slept till 4pm! Hoho. Then woke up to finish the farewell presents which I'm prepared to deliver to the office tomorrow (which is now).

So when you're jobless and have lotsa time, you tries to fill them up. Thus, I made plans with myself...

1. Gotta read more books to enrich myself
2. Gotta watch more Discovery and Animal Planet, again to enrich myself
3. Gotta do more art&craft like folding stars, cranes and designing mugs.
4. Gotta play more Bejeweled
5. Gotta travel more often, whether in or out of Singapore
6. Gotta make my brains work by doing all of the above =)

But first, I gotta pay up the outstanding fine I owe the NLB, a staggering $50. Don't ask me how I did it. -.-

Anyway, the Malacca trip wasn't too bad except for the mini van we were on. It made my legs cramped like nobody's business. Mum bought lotsa local food like dodoh and otah. Even the aunties were impressed by how much we spent. LOL! Well, on a sad note, I lost RM118 on mahjong. Wth. Still, I love the aunties 'cause they're SO nice!

We were brought to a medium for advices and for a free thinker like me, I'm always flabbergasted! How can they be so accurate? She even knew that Mum is contemplating of changing her job. Freaky.

Well, got to know a new friend too. Not a bad guy but has a fiery temper. He looked like one of my seniors and has the character of a friend. Freaky again. And he has a nice body! 1.8m tall with 6 packs~ Perfect build, plus he's in the air force. Haha~

Off to Malacca~

May 06 [Sat], 2006, 2:36
Yawn.

I'll be going to Malacca with my mum over the weekend
so don't look for me. :)

Ending work on next Tuesday...

YES!

Finally I'm FREEEEEEEEE~!

I miss watching SCV when the Sun is still out and shining.

For now,
busy making farewell gifts.
& wondering where all the creative juices came from.
Hah

In the meantime, see ya~ ^^

Days of the Five of US #1

April 30 [Sun], 2006, 2:00
Shall start naming posts of times spent with the girls. Its more organised and for most of the time, I can't think of any title because there's too many climax-es(?). Haha

Being the very budget us, we ate at a food court again. But went to the Wisma one this time round. After being convinced by my mum, I decided to queue for the char kway teow. Well, it was average, not THAT fantasic, but not that bad either. Kinda too sweet when it turns cold.

After that we proceeded to Party World, a good way to avoid shopping (which we still did -.-), lol. Jean borrowed the VIP card f rom her bro and it looked like a membership card from those 'ye zong hui' :X They should change the logo, seriously. Ordered bubbletea and surprisingly, all turned out to be good. Until we received the bill and realised that the pearls cost another 60cents. No wonder there was so much of those pearls. Bah.

After 4 months of not singing, we went kinda bonkers. Haha. Started singing oldies! And also not forgetting to remind ourselves that we're getting old. Sigh. I bet we will do this from now onwards. What will our kids think in the future? Eg. look at Jie Lun and think that he's a 'lao ge xing'. Gosh, unthinkable. Just like how we laugh at our parents singing Yu Tian's songs, our kids will laugh at us singing Jacky Cheung's songs. Ugh.

Anyway, we went into Zara and Forever 21 again. But this time, we practiced ALOT of control, didn't even take anything off the shelves. Give yourself a pat on the back, girls. Great achievement! Lol. Dinner spent at Long Johns (really budget). Ww, please don't make us laugh or even cry again. ^^ Its bad for our stomaches, you know.

Zonking out. Niteo!

Random, very.

April 28 [Fri], 2006, 16:03
#1 I want to sing K! But apparently, bumble got it all wrong. The $6+++ promotion does NOT apply on this Sunday because Monday is a public holiday. Grrrr. Still sounded so damn sure when I asked him a few days ago. And I thought KBox suddenly become so kind and gladly forgot about the public hol. Sigh. Make me happy for nothing! =(

#2 The girls wanna sing K too! But Tiff wants to do something budgeted. Sigh. Make me happy for nothing again.

#3 I wasted my whole hour calling up KBox and Party World. In the end, turned out that I'm going to neither. *sad* Nevertheless, I'll put up the prices. For saturday, from 2-7pm Kbox is $19.80 or $16.80(Kstudent). From 2-8pm (any 4 hours), Party World is $14.80 with one complimentary drink.

#4 tingism and I thought Nail Palace has a $39 promotion for mani and pedi. In the end, its over and the tamp branch doesn't have any promotions going on anyway. So for my efforts, here are the prices. $24 for full mani and $36 for full pedi. Express mani @ $13 and express pedi @ $18. I prefer my Nails in Vogue. tingism is hard to please though. Haha.

#5 I just saw the PAP bus strutting by. Hmm, it doesn't sound like Mr George Yeo.

#6 Posters of the PAP gang and the Workers party gang are everywhere, eg. on every single lamppost. Don't believe? Come by Bedok Reservoir. Carpark also have leh!

Remember, Prison Got No Broadband

April 27 [Thu], 2006, 18:15
Lol. In conjunction with mrbrown.com, I shall go with the blog title of the month.

Aiye, I posted something about 'Nomination Day' which is directly related to the Singapore General Elections 2006, so is it considered to be having explicit political contents? I will only know that if I published the post BUT! I shan't take the risk. Gonna leave the entry hidden till 6 May 2006, 2359hrs (as said by mrbrown).

Chances of being found out ain't high as I'm using a Japanese domain but I shan't pray pray.. Because by the time I really pray, it might be too late. Somehow the law seems to think that Singaporeans don't have the ability to think by themselves. Podcasts and blog entries will affect voting decisions? They're thinking so highly of the Blogosphere! So bloggers should be happy. Haha.

Well, so I might do what mrbrown suggests, just blog normally and avoid anything linked directly to the elections. Hmm, but there's opposition competing for Aljunied GRC so it should be an exciting show.

Something neutral, all the best for both parties! *cross fingers*

LOL

Nomination Day!

April 27 [Thu], 2006, 14:40
I nearly forgot its Nomination Day today! Haha. Seen some reports on it when I was on the bus.

To my surprise, there's an opposition competing for Aljunied GRC. Hmmm, But I haven't seen them around for the past 5 years! I thought there's only Mr Yeo and gang in my GRC. Well, I can't vote yet. But I like Mr George Yeo! Heh. 'Cause he gave me a good first impression - friendly and approachable. So I don't want Bedok to fall into the hands of the opposition. But my mum does not think likewise. She claims that its better to have some opposition in the Parliament so as to constantly remind the PAP of competitors. Bah. But what happens if the unthinkable happens and Aljunied fall into another pair of hands? What will become of all the upgrading, man. However, I don't mind if a few opposition gets into the Parliament, 'cause meetings will be hilarious with the PAP MPs dozing off behind. Funny. As long as it does not concern my GRC, I don't mind. Hur hur.

I beginning to think that I'm becoming pro-PAP. Gosh. Haha. Maybe after being in a committee leading others, I will tend to understand how these leaders feel and all the efforts they put in. Though mine is on a much much smaller scale. Haha. Well, politics is something extremely cruel anyway. Because it doesn't mean that if you're kind to others, they would reciprocate. Its all or nothing, in fact. So we can't blame the party for what they've said or done.

Hmm, am I allowed to blog about this? Aiya, don't care.

I will be hoping for the best. ^^

Oh, my company always get phonecalls looking for 'Sergeant Lim' or 'Sergeant Chua' or 'Sergeant whatever' because our number is so close to that of the Traffic Police. Damn funny, especially when the callers don't believe that we're not the Traffic Police. -.-"
