Perfection makes it difficult to complain.....

I had a perfect day today. The weather was warm at 38 degrees and I had to go to the Department of Motor vehicles after work to pick up my license plate tags. 2 hours and 15 minutes later I was leaving the DMV tags in hand. It was a very annoying 135 minutes. After standing outside for close to 80 of those minutes I found myself inside and waiting even longer. Normally this would ruin my day, and make me angry. I must admit I was not in the best of moods as I was leaving. Shortly there after I found my mood improving. All I could think about was going to the beach. A prospect I had thought about all day. On my trip home, I was cut off by a giant truck, and almost hit them. To add insult to injury, I hit the longest stop light ever when I pulled up to Placentia and Superior. As I turned right on to Superior, I could see the Ocean. Shinning brightly in the sun, Catalina Island visible, with some fog covering it. The short 1/3 of a mile to my apartment seemed to take much longer than normal. But it was a good wait. Seeing the ocean, people in cars next to me with the same look of determination to get there as quickly as possible. Before another thought could be formed I was pulling into my apartment complex. Time seemed to speed up for me, as I got out of my car I arrived to quickly with only one thought on my mind. To hit the water. Undressing as I hit my door, keys separated so I only had my house key, then dropped on the counter. A quick stop by the bathroom and into my board shorts. Aqua shoes on, cellphone in my hand, I think for a brief second and decide to just trade it for my keys. Out the door and to the street, I see a Jaguar sitting over the sidewalk where I want to walk. Inside a young beautiful woman, sunglasses on and the type of outfit on that shows class and deserves a second look. She smiles at me benignly, back her car up knowingly, we share a second of smiles both knowing full well what the other is thinking. I wave in thanks, her smile deepens, and I walk towards the beach. I arrive at the beach, see a surfer as I walk through the concrete gate, we share the same smile as I did with the young woman in the Jaguar as he puts the top of his wet suit on and zips up. Before long my feet are touching wet sand, and all the days tribulations escape me. I have the sunset, and other knowing smiles to look forward to. The remainder of the story I will keep for myself.
