This morning I woke up and read a devotional sent to my inbox. And the last sentence was "keep breathing till God says stop."
And it made me think for a bit. I don't think breathing is a choice. I was born and breath was given to me and when I'm going to die breathe will be taken away for me.
It's something I can't choose. I certainly didn't choose to start breathing. I can stop breathing for a few seconds but I can't stop it completely. Unless I commit suicide and kill myself.
So my husband and I had this conversation whether belief is an option. He think it isn't. Most Christian think it is.
I think it's both. To believe you must have that initial setup or belong to the circle. You can't on your own put yourself in it, otherwise you end up just pretending that you are.
Therefore, God must have made that initial setup for those who believe. In fact, I think God makes that setup for everybody like when He gives our first breathe. It's not a choice.
But one can to stop breathing here and there just the same as people believe in God here and there. One can never completely stop breathing just as one can never stop believing in God completely. Most people call to God in their crucial time.
And the worst thing that can happen is committing suicide/ killing ourselves but as long as we have breath we all have the initial setup to enter the Kingdom of God.
may we always remember that we breathe and are alive because of Him.
