In the last few years, themes for the card

In the last few years, themes for the card have included a sexy menswear-inspired shoot tinted in dramatic blue tones shot by Nick Saglimbeni, an all-white party pic complete with silver confetti (also Saglimbeni), and a ransacked carnival scene shot by David LaChapelle.

In addition to chatter about the actual image, though, there's always plenty of speculation about which members from the extended Kardashian-Jenner brood make the cut, and which don't. In 2012, despite the fact that Kanye West and Kim had been inseparable for months, the rapper was not included in the pic (though that may have been his choice), and in 2013, Kanye, Scott Disick, Lamar Odom, and Rob Kardashian were all notably absent (Bruce, however, did make the cut).

While we can't be sure exactly why the always-busy family is suddenly too busy to get this project to materialize, we do know one thing: In the past, they've overcome scheduling conflicts with Photoshop. Last November, Khloé confessed that they regularly use the digital tool to get everyone together. "We pretend that we're always together," she said. "The power of cameras and Photoshop."Apparently, amount of editing magic can get the Kardashian Kristmas card off the ground this year. Still, we can't help but wonder why they don't just use Kim's Paper magazine cover shot and call it a day.
