2009 April 27 Lonely Kicker
The 2009 NFL Draft is over and done with. How does the Gavin Escobar Authentic Jersey 2009 NFL Draft stack up to the rest well comeback in two to three years and we will see. Instead of going into great detail of every player drafted. In addition to analyzing whether each team addressed their current and future needs. I am providing with a few general observations. With the inexact science that is the NFL Draft.
The New York Jets selection of USC quarterback Matt Sanchez made their draft because the Jets need a quarterback now. Jets focused most of their draft on the offense with the addition of drafting Iowa running back Shonn Greene. This draft seems to mean to me that the Jets are pretty satisfied with their defense.
The Arizona Cardinals drafted Ohio State running back Chris Wells. He was a good bargain in the first round at pick 31. The Cardinals need him to switch out with running back Tim Hightower. Connecticut linebacker Cody Brown should be able to help the Cardinals with pressure from the outside.
The New England Patriots are one of the top drafting teams. Bill Belichick wants to upgrade depth. The Patriots were involved with seven trades. The Patriots got four secondround picks and two more in the third round. In addition to two more second www.officialfootballcowboys.com/89_gavin_escobar_jersey_authentic_black_limited_cheap.html round pick in the 2010 NFL Draft. Drafting Oregon safety Patrick Chung, and cornerback Darius Butler will help their secondary. Raji fell to them in the first round. Most of their team needs were addressed.
The New York Giants addressed the wide receiver needs with North Carolina wide receiver Hakeem Nicks, and Poly California wide receiver Ramses Barden. I don't think they addressed the secondary until the later rounds.
The Philadelphia Eagles acquired speedy Missouri wide receiver, Jeremy Maclin the 2 wide receiver in the draft fell significantly in Travis Frederick Authentic Jersey the first round but the result is he gets to play for a better team. (For the record Jeremy Maclin and me graduated from the same high school Kirkwood High School. different years obviously.)He should be able to become an immediate impact player. He should be a counterpart to wide receiver Deshawn Jackson. The Eagles also drafted running back Pittsburgh running www.officialfootballcowboys.com/70_travis_frederick_jersey_authentic_black_limited_cheap.html back LeShawn McCoy. He should be able to help out Brain Westbrook because he is becoming very injury prone and be one two punch in the Eagles ground game and catching out of the backfield.
The Dallas Cowboys did not get a pick until the third round due to their trade last season for Roy Williams. They did get a lot of depth. The Denver Broncos draft really puzzles me. They picked the best running back in the draft with Georgia running back Knowshon Moreno. What was their biggest weakness, and why did they not make the playoffs it was their defense. This is after they signed three running backs from free agency. But not making the defense a more of a priority makes me wonder.
The Oakland Raiders did what the Raiders do they love to stretch. Meaning they stretch for picks when there are better available. They really needed a tackle and they go for a wide receiver. But they did not even grab the best receiver in the draft with Crabtree, Maclin, and Harvin all still on the board. With their first pick they pick Maryland wide receiver Darrius HeywardBey. Maryland is not a really pass happy school. He does have speed but does have trouble with catching the ball. Heyward Bay was thought he should be picked around pick 20 but the Raiders picked him up at pick 7. Another shot is their cross state rivals the San Francisco 49ers picked up Crabtree with pick 10. This proves to me that Al Davis is still running the Raiders.
