In March, 2007, I went to Sydney, because URAWA REDS my favorite soccer team in Jleague had a match of Asia Champions league there. It was my first tlaveling abroad.
I left Narita Airport in March 19th in the night.
I borded QANTAS airline flight 136. In-flight meal was good, and all attendants were very kind. After the dinner, they served hot-chocolate
with marshmallow. It mede me relax
, and I felt their kindness through this service.
In the morning, March 20th, I arrived at Sydney International Airport. It was shiny
day and temparature was already high.
I took airport-link train
from airport to central of the Sydney city. I checked the map in the book written about sydney city, and walked
from central station to the hotel I reserved in Japan with my big heavy baggage. it took about 30 min. because I lost my way sometimes.
I arrived ato the hotel about 12p.m. and checked into, but my room was not ready yet
, so I had to wait till 3 p.m.
I decided to walk around, so I kept my baggage to the hotel, and go out.
The hotel was near the Hyde Park, so I went there first. I found a big tall tower when I was in the park. It was the Sydney Tower. I started walking again to there. On the way to the tower, I bought
a bottled water and candy at WOOLWOOTH a big super market. I used this super market many times during in the Sydney. After bought them, I remembered that WOOLWOOTH was near the town hall station, and near the station, there was
Queen Victoria Building. So I changed my destination. I went to QVB. I didn’t enter the building, only saw by outside.
Next, I decided to go Opera House. I memorized it was near the Cirqular Quay bay. I walked depending on only my hunch. (I always do like this in when I visit cities for the first time.) A few minutes later, I felt salt smell and wind like in the beach.
I walked quickly
and there was Cirqular Quay bay
(my hunch is great
) Soon, the Opera House and Harbour Bridge came in to my view. They were big, huge, and sea was shining by sunshine. It was really beautiful view.
I went closer Opera House along the bay. It was really big white hall.
Then I went to more along the sea to Woolloomooloo bay.
On the way to Woolloomooloo, there was Mrs. Macquarie’s chair, Royal Botanic Garden, and some restaurants.
I walked trifle about 30 minutes, Woolloomooloo area, Kings Cross area…, finally, I arrived at St Mary's Cathedral. It wan next to the Hyde Park, and time was already 3p.m. so I back to the hotel and rest a little time.
A few hours later, my sell phone was rung
and I was waked up by calling melody. My friend also visiting Sydney for REDS’ match, called to me
and he asked me to go somewhere for the dinner.
I went to museum station and met him there. We went to the hotel another friends staying. There was next to Darling Harbor. The harbor was very beautiful even in night.
We talked for a few minutes what to eat, and decided to eat “aussiebeef” steaks. We asked hotel staff were there some restaurant can eat it near there. He said “go to the Geroge street. There are a lot of restaurant along the street.” So we went to the Geroge street
and found restaurant we can eat steaks only 5 $
We orderd steaks and beer.
We could choice chips or mash and sauce. I choose mash potato and gravy sauce. Look at the photo, its very big steak
Meat was little tough but delicious.
Beer was ofcause good.
We ejoyed talking and eating.
After we left the restaurant, we went to WOOLWOOTH and bought foods and water. I bought bread
, salad, milk
, and some fruits
for tomorrow breakfirst.
Then, we back to each hotel.
I felt little tired
, so went to bed early
