Back to reality

The amount of chocolates I bought from Switzerland and France!!
It seemed to be a routine where you tend to grab a few sticks
of chocolate whenever you visit a super market...
(and plus a bag of peanuts for my family...)

Anyway, I'm enjoying pretty much of my modules this semester.
The lecturer of Economics of Sociology is weirdly funny!
Her examples can't seem venture out of SEX.
She spent half an hour explaining why breasts are not
considered "private parts" in the 21st society,
cuz girls today love wearing tube tops etc,
flaunting their assets. So it's not private anymore.
Super funny! I love her!!!

Soci of Education isn't of my interest, but it's kinda digestible.
I took it cuz there weren't any other level 3000 modules
which interests me...
I enjoy watching the videos Rafin plays in each lecture!

I had my first tutorial of International Relation today,
and I'm impressed at how updated the class were
with current affairs and world history!
I need to do some additional readings!!! :(

But 3 weeks of Karl Marx and Capitalism is a total bore....
And the lecturer is intimidating... argh

But it's already 4th week of school and
I've not shown much progress in my READINGS!!!!!

I've been having too much fun these few days...
Ate, played, and played....

Had a treat from Mars' mom at this Korean Restaurant,
where I got to eat some authentic Korean dishes.
It was like steamboat, where you cook the super
seasoned kimchi with fish and toufu. It was so good!
We also had this Korean cold noodle with lots of vege toppings
I think Korean food is super healthy!!!

I've been eating too much since the Arts canteen had reopened.
I heard the Queue for laksa was horrendous on the first day..
Hell, it was great. (maybe cuz I haven't had laksa for the
past year!)
But the favourite Japanese stall was a disappointment
cuz they cooked the chicken and egg separately
for my Oyakodon! X(

Argh... Im growing fat!

Got some Kimchi from Mars' mom so I may start
my Kimchi diet! soon... ahhahaha oh it's so good too!

Did a couple of mini-paintings of Italy.
That's Florence and Venice :)

All projects and essays are finally DONE!!!!!
though there's nothing to be happy about
cuz final's in less than a mth's time, but
I'm giving myself a break this weekend!!!!! who cares!

well, i'm having a japanese presentation next thurs
and I really suck at public speaking....
I dont seem to be able to get rid of my stage fright =(
(I get nervous talking to an audience of more than 5!!)
I'll be so nervous and I'll talk like a bullet train and
no one would be able to catch what I'm saying!! Haha!!
A friend told me to imagine the audience as pumpkins ...
hahahaha the thought of it makes me laugh!!!!
who knows, it might work? I'll try.... *lol*

States or Japan?

Caught D.O.A last night.
It was o-k-a-y only... I wouldn't reccomend it!! =P

Anyway... time really flies... 1.5 years' time's my graduation.
I'm quite sure of furthering my studies after that,
cuz being just an undergraduate isn't enough in this
meritocratic sunny island.
But I was thinking of WHERE.

All the while, people have been telling me about
how great US was... going US is like WOW...
it's a land of opportunity, you get to see the world blah blah..
I've been there, I know... I know....

BUT...

recently, I've started to think...
Everyone's going to Aussie, US, Canada, London....
A degree from these countries are becoming common in SG
unless I manage to get into those top universities like
Berkeley,Cornell etc...

I've been thnking of going to US cuz nevertheless the
so-called most developed, most industrialised country in the world.
There would be more career opportunity after graduating.
(and who knows I may marry some cute Ang-moh
and my kid would have a bright future!!?*LOL*)

But after re-thinking, I decided to opt to go back to Japan.
There aren't many locals who speak perfect Japanese here.
(Except for the few in my J5 class!)
And being tri-lingual gives you alot of advantage (I think)
and better career prospects.
Furthermore, the political and economical relationships between
SG and JPN are getting better
And many foreign companies use SG as a stepping stone
to venture into the Japanese Mkt.
So I foresee there would be more Japanese MNCs
and thus require people who have profeciency in Japanese.
and these big companies are usually generous in their salaries!

And at least JPN isn't so far
and even if I marry some Japanese guy,
my parents won't have language barrier... Hahaha!
(my dad's bad at English.. haHaa!)
Yup! so Japan would be good...
I hope I've set the right goal and work for it!

i need my dictionary...

Functionalist's so gross...
can't they use a simpler language!?

I hate readings

i thought making beaded accessories weren't
that challenging, but I was so wrong!!
This simple bracelet took me whole afternoon!@#$%!! =(

この可愛い猫 は昨日ガチャコンで取ったんだ
btw.. i think my phone's camera feature is awsome!! *gRin*
I love Cats!!

unexpected visitor

September 07 [Thu], 2006, 21:11
nothing much to blog lately cuz it's been school, school, school.
there's hardly time to go online, or no mood for online? bah...

Sam brought her Japanese friend to school today
whom I brought around for a super short tour autour de school
Smart ass law student from Kyoto ha!!
It was super short cuz we took the wrong bus
and ended up at PGP, where there's nothing much to see..
I wonder when would I stop being so blur! =(
Anyway, he was very impressed by the size of the school
and the fact that our students drive to school *lol*
well.. the land in Japan's over priced so I guess
their campus ain't that huge? and parking's expensive too..
I guess it was a huge culture shock for him... haha

I hate tutorials in which you got nothing to say but
you're forced to speak up...

On a happier note, there's webcast for Tourism lecture!!
*yayness* no more late fridays =)))
Gonna meet Emi for our manga session at
Japanese Association tomorrow! wooHOo!!

alright... better get back to my freakin' 4800words
nihongo essay... it's barely a quater done... gosh..

According to Karl Marx,
Human are creative beings and thus
capitalism leads to alienation because
workers aren't allowed to decide
how and what to produce.

Sounds too chim?
How 'bout this?

A normal bear catches fish along the river
in a jungle.
When a bear is denied to do bear things,
made to wear skirts and stand on balls in a circus,
it's being alienated.

Well... that was an example given by my lecturer
on Alienation, word by word.
It really made me laugh out loud. =P

By the way,
my study session with AL was rather unsuccessful...
3 hours of NYDC cum onlin-ing,
discussing about future significant others
and the 2 superficial selves,
while worrying about tutorial interviews and assignments...
I hope next week would be a more productive one =p

Rapture

August 04 [Fri], 2006, 23:45

I guess Mars and I were lucky that Nic managed
to get us 2 tickets for Rapture. *yayness*
(I guess Mira and Krys had tuition on Friday night?)

Anyway...
this year's Rapture was held at the Esplanade!
Although the place is more classy and posh,
it holds lesser people than Kallang theatre or
the MediaCorp.
That's no wonder the tickets got sold out even before
they were officially in the "market"! hahaha

About the dance...
Mars kept insisting that Rapture during our J2 year
was still the best so far...
Well, I kinda agree with that.
Jamie thinks that I'm bias..... maybe... oh well... haha
But I'm quite sure the Alumni Dances were way better
than the Junior dances (though I liked their ballet item!)
Though our seat was at circle 3 (furthest from the stage)
nevertheless, we still managed to spot Nic!
(small eyes doesn't mean you can't see.. heh!)
Well done nic!! *hugssss*
