FOr the first time since the blog's debut, Ichigo Kulabu is covering the Start of Year: Beginning cosplay event! Even though it was a small scale events with a few cosplayers, the quality of the cosplay was pretty high. (Aside for Aizen, whose cosplay never goes well)

On the same night, we celebrated Yumeko's birthday. She is particularly euphoric after discovering that she's left behind a souvenir......

We at Ichigo Kulabu are moving towards a more gentle, less vicious take on life. Therefore, we will only paste the good, and talk about how wonderful they are. (Actually, I wanted to take a picture of the Matsumoto Rangiku, but my wonderful friends stopped me. They are concerned about my karma)

The cosplay that caught our eyes was this quite pretty girl at the "lawn" carrying a violin. Lucky! It's a cute Hino Kahoko from La Corda d'Oro!!!!


We've learnt to expect less, so were fairly pleased to discover next to her Yuki Cross and Kiryuu Zero from Vampire Knight. Even though they were not as stick-thin or sexy as the real deal, we're not complaining. No, really.


OK. This we have to complain. From left to right, it is a family portrait of Ouran High School Host Club with Nekozawa, pervertic Kyouya, Mori-senpai, Tamaki, and Haninozuka. I am sorry, but this Tamaki. Is. Just. So. OMG. Actually, Ichigo Kulabu memebrs were more concerned with the Kyouya, who for some strange reason had this really dirty smirk on his face. It's like a Kyouya-rapist-combination. I was quite pleased with the Mori-senpai, who was born with the height of Mori. He even pooled it off with dumb, small eyes and black spikey hair. Unfortunately the real world is just not the same as anime...


Nabari no Ou's yoite and XXX greeted us. The XXX has been a great mystery to us. Which character is she supposed to be??? A black-haired female version of Yukimi?


Also, disturbingly, a female version of that thing from ToLoveRu. Don't intend to watch it. Especially after this drag thing...


Now, now. I am not rascist or anything. Dark-skinned people can like, cosplay as Lizzie from Phantom, or Jasdevi from D Grayman. (Ok, that's actually grey skin) But Kuroshitsuji??? It also doesn't help that the two of them posed with this extremely YURI look on their faces. Kuroshitsuji seems like a popular thing to cosplay, along with K-ON and the forever queen of anime Suzumiya Haruhi


Ultra Bitchy Suzumiya Haruhi!!! She's got a bitch face. but I'm not surprised, because she's a blogger. Blogger = vicious!!!!


A pretty good cosplay of the now deceased Ulquiorra Schiffer. I guess if you don't show your face, being Skinny enables you to cosplay many characters well. Like Hollow Ichigo. Piece of cake!


That thing from loco loco. Hahahaha


Nagato Yuki, Asahina Mikuru and Suzumiya Haruhi. Pretty OK I guess, even the spectacles can be considered as Haruhi's moe moe thing. The Yuki's a bit pissy though.


WOW! Rukia with eyes as big as the real deal! She put loads of effort into the costume too, even has got a really well-cut out Hell Butterfly. Unfortunately it can't really be seen...


Hatsune Miku from Vocaloid. She wasn't that bad, until you go near her. I have no idea why, but it didn't occur to her to use a plush leek. No, her leek was REAL, and she REEKED OF LEEK. She was SO SMELLY OMG.


Ciel Phantomhive: Excellent Version. This was really pretty good.


Lenalee Lee. We were ogling at her legs. Such wonderfully skinny legs!! If she had come with the actual uniform.....


Zero! This one is exactly how I would expect the real Zero to look like. He was even as skinny. But this pose makes it look as though Zero is going to wait on a table.


K-ON!!!! I am sure there are repeats because I don't remember there being so many girls. It's amazing, like Yumeko said, for there to be some many girls of the same height. Seriously.


Bakuman debut at Cosplay!!! This is extremely rare, so we thought we'd grab a picture. They even brought all their manga there!!


Last but not least, the staple at every Cosplay event: Cloud!


And we entertained ourselves with this pcture of Ulquiorra waiting to return to Hueco Mondo...at a busstop.



NEXT! We celebrated Yumeko's birthday at Hog's Breath Cafe at CHIJMES. It was pretty nice. The photos have been uploaded and here are some snapshots:
