Rangers' Staal has post-concussion issues

Training camps just opened and already the Rangers have a little concern within their defensive corps. Marc Staal, one of the alternate captains behind Ryan Callahan, sat out the team's intrasquad scrimmage on Sunday and is going to miss the first three preseason games -- at least -- because of post-concussion symptoms. The team Cheap Jerseys Wholesale stressed, however, that it is completely precautionary and Staal has already been cleared.
"Staal skated hard today and yesterday ... I saw him before he left and he is feeling good. Just want to be smart about this." The hit that likely caused the concussion came from none other than Staal's brother Erik of the Hurricanes Green Bay Packers Jerseys back in Februrary of last season, missing three games but then playing the remainder of the season, including the playoffs. Staal reportedly began suffering the symptoms during the summer, explaining the early shutdown just days into camp opening.
Post-concussion symptoms are becoming a hotter topic day by day as they have been responsible for sidelining Penguins star Sidney Crosby the last nine months. Staal has become a big part of the Rangers' back end. Last season the 24-year-old scored seven goals -- four on the power play, two more short-handed -- and had 22 assists. All told, he avearaged more than 25 minutes a game on the ice.
