1985年横浜生まれ。 ジャズサックス奏者、中村誠一(T.sax)の長女。5歳よりダイアナ石山Song &Danceミュージカル教室に通いダンスと共にミュージカルナンバーを学ぶ。 ミュージカル女優を目指していた高校2年次、エラ・フィッツジェラルドの歌に衝撃と感銘を受け、ジャズヴォーカリストになりたいと思うようになる。
その後、すぐに伊集加代子氏に師事。 翌年、18歳で中村誠一&Jazz Crewのラ イブ・コンサートにて初舞台を踏む。 04’4月洗足学園音楽大学ジャズボーカル科に入学、Dana Hanchard氏に師事する。 それと同時にライブ活動を精力的に始め、 08’3月 洗足学園ジャズヴォーカル科を主席で卒業。
卒業後は、08年5月30日公開 覚和歌子、谷川俊太郎、監督のカンヌ 国際映画際出展作品 『ヤーチャイカ』の主題歌を唄い、CMやCMナレーションなどにも参加する。
08’7月 渡米。ボストンにあるBerklee College of Musicに留学。Jerome Kyles氏,Donna McElroy氏,Gabrielle Goodman氏に師事し、NYでライブ活動なども始める。
10’9月、アメリカから帰国後、第30回浅草JAZZコンテストにて銀賞受賞。ディズニーオンアイス2011では、「アラジン」 ジャズミン役、「美女と野獣」ベル役の日本語吹き替えの歌を担当する。
現在、東京、横浜を中心にライブ活動を行っている。

Sari Nakamura is a jazz vocalist from Yokohama Japan.
Born in 1985, Sari grew up in a very musical household.
Sari’s father is a renown tenor saxophone player who has
Played with well-known jazz musicians through out Japan.
Jazz was therefore a major part of Sari’s musical education from
a very young age.
Sari started out not as a musician, but as a dancer from age 5.
She studied many genres and specialized in Broadway Musical
Style of dance until age 21.When Sari was 17years old, however,
her father gave her Ella Fitzgerald’s album “Ella sings Cole Porter”.
From then on, she decided to focus on music and made it her goal to
be a jazz vocalist.
Sari later enrolled in the Senzoku College of Music in Yokohama and graduated at the top of her class in spring of 2008. In her last year, Sari auditioned for Berklee and was a successful recipient of the world scholarship tour. Sari has been at Berklee for one year and has studied with Jerome kyles, Donna McElroy and most recently Gabrielle Goodman. She is currently helping her friends and fellow Berkee students on venous recitals coming up this semester. Sari hopes to be able to collaborate with other musicians from around the world at Berklee in the future. She is also working towards holding a recital at Berklee, Singing in a vanity of musical genres.
